Success factors
When are the outsourced development issues regarded as successes ?
- A successful software outsourcing project requires from both the customer and EBS a precise and similar understanding of the possibilities and restrictions of the collaboration, trust, standby in overcoming difficulties and will for a successful cooperation management in both companies. The purposes of such an activity can be fulfilled only on the condition of a long term collaboration.
- Both parties must express the will of partnership
- The obligations of both parties and the procedures to be carried out have to be precisely stated
The key for success in Outsourcing – The process modelling
- Regarding the continuity of every project phase there are wide-used process models, such as cascade or spiral model, the V-model or the Rational Unified Process (RUP). EBS „talks“ all the model languages but suggests the use of RUP, which is settled in today as quasi standard
- On the basis of a process model, the „homeworks“ will be divided between customer and EBS
- Issues that can be carried out offshore can be precisely described and handed over to EBS
- Important issues remain indoor. This way there will be no loss of know-how. Special issues – from the point of view of costs and intensive work - will be left over to EBS.
