Because of extensive international experience of the EBS Management the company has been able to focused rapidly develop .The concentration on a single business field at first and a later expansion to a total of three business fields in 2003 are the results of careful market analyses and sense-making processes. EBS also realized from the beginning the potential of the Romanian labor force, in terms of quality and quantity. In Cluj-Napoca emerged an atmosphere of innovation and motivation, supported by national and local programs promoting economic development. EBS succeeded in bringing this spirit into the company and turned it into an essential component of its organizational culture.

A QS System accompanying the development process has been introduced. Its tasks are not limited to the determination of errors in the application only, but they are also regarding the technical aspects of the development tasks. They also offer the developers support throughout the development procedures.
For this an internal SW-Tool has been developed, with the purpose of directing and documenting the QS activity.
In order to comply with the requirements of the staff EBS organized intensive training courses in business management.
In the processing of a development task a QS specialist is required to work together with the developer.
QS-specialists possess a college degree in business management and are proficient in the German language. QS experts are also needed in the analysis and verification of development tasks.

Traditionally, Romania is a country with large multilingual circles of population. In Transilvania, besides English, many locals can speak German, French and Italian.
As a result of the intensive business relations with Germany the German language gained in importance at EBS. To bring forward the German language skills of the staff, EBS introduced an internal professional training system.
Most of the staff speaks fluently German. The others have basic knowledge of the German language. All of the employees know English very well.

Employees
The average number of the staff, at the end of the third quarter of 2003, was 70 employees. The average age is 28 years. Our employees have at least one professionally corresponding college degree in one of the following fields: IT, IT applied in business and business economics. Thus they meet all the requirements for software development and consultancy in Internet, Client/Server and Unix.

In order to make its business operations more professional and to test them independently, EBS subjected itself to several certification processes. This concerns both independent and partner-oriented programs. Until now EBS has acquired the following certificates:

The EBS application “EBS Output Designer” has been certified by Sun. “EBS Output Designer” has been developed for software companies which use Natural/Adabas in their activity. Text oriented printouts (CUI) can be graphically overworked, exported in .pdf format or printed as GUI- reports.

SAG Partner
EBS Romania enters partnership with Software AG
EBS Romania and Software AG enter partnership. By the further developing of the EBS Output Designer Sofware AG uses Tamino (XML Server) for the optical document filing.
Sofware AG , Darmstadt, has been founded in 1969. Today it is the greatest European and world wide one of the leading system software, data integration and management service providers.

Social activities
In the region of Cluj-Napoca EBS is engaged in the support of orphanages, church and humanitarian organisations. Thus EBS stands as sponsor for the local high school “Waldorf“. The company also allocates scholarships to very good students from local universities. Participants in national competitions in the field of computer science and sports receive financial support also.
Scholarships
EBS awards each year, in autumn, six to ten Scholarships to prominent students of the universities of Information Technology applied in Economics, Information Technology and Information Technology applied in Techniques, in Cluj-Napoca.

Company foundation
EBS Romania S.R.L. was founded in June 2000 as a subsidiary of a German software company. In 30.06.2002 the business was taken over from the present German management and since then it has been called EBS Romania S.R.L.
